what we collect

during the pilot we collect your email address, the skills you add to your profile, any work samples you share (title, optional URL, optional description), and the job applications you submit (including optional cover notes). employers see only an anonymous reference code — your name and email are never shown to them.

age requirement

whendoistart is for people 16 and older. by creating an account you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. if we learn that an account was created by someone younger, we will delete it.

profile, skills, and work samples

your skills and work samples are visible to employers who review your applications. they are not indexed publicly. you can remove any skill or work sample from your profile at any time from your profile settings.

how we use it

your information is used only to:

• match you with relevant job opportunities
• let employers review your application (anonymously until you accept an offer)
• send you application status updates
• nothing else — we will never sell or share your data with third parties

retention and deletion

we keep your profile and application data for as long as your account is active. if you close your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. anonymised aggregate statistics (e.g., employer response rates) may be retained after deletion. you can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@whendoistart.com.

data security

your data is stored in a cloudflare d1 database. we take reasonable steps to protect it, but no system is completely secure. we will notify you promptly if a breach affects your information.
